Mr. Charles E. Hewitt, age 81. Of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life, Monday October 24, 2016 at Pleasant Valley. Charles was born October 3, 1935 in Decatur, AL, the son of the late Jack Hewitt and Allie Poff Hewitt. He was also preceded by his brother, J.B. Hewitt and sister Nellie Ruth. Charles was a member of the United States Air Force and for many years worked security at Mohawk Industries.

Mr. Charles E. Hewitt is survived by his wife, Marleen Hewitt, daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Bob Parker of Venice, Florida, Angie and Russell Bronson of Chatsworth, GA, Tonya and Duane McMullen of Dalton, GA, Kristy and John McKenzie of Chatsworth, GA, Randi Philyaw of Chatsworth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Luann Philyaw of Tunnel Hill, GA; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles E. Hewitt will be held Thursday,October 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend John McKenize and Reverend Rusty Langford officiating. Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
