Mr. Charles Lamar "Chuck" Hayes, age 53, of Chatsworth, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Erlanger Health Care in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chuck was born Augusta 8, 1962 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Charles A. "Buddy" and Bertha Porter Hayes. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, William Oscar and Mattie Hayes, William Luther and Gertie Porter and Rosa Elizabeth Athey Hayes and a sister, Sandra Elder.

Chuck loved singing and playing the guitar and spending time with his grandbabies.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Hayes of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Walley-James and Clifford James; grandchildren, Syiah and Carter James; sisters, Becky and Ira Taylor, Tammie Sosa, Paula and Billy Garrison, Gina and Phillip Morrison, Eunice and Eddie Turner, Mary and Marshal Parker; brother, Lamar and Rita Locke; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Lamar "Chuck" Hayes will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with his friends and family sharing his life. He will be laid to rest beside his parents at West Hill Cemetery with Josh Locke, Jeremy Locke, David Elder, Richard Rogers, Manny Sosa, Kevin Garrison and Austin Stafford serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and after 12:00 noon Friday until the service hour.
