Mr. Charles Lee Calloway, Sr., age 64, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, departed this life Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the local Hospital.

Charles was born January 9, 1959, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a son of the late Shirley Eugene Calloway and Ruth Stone. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Marilyn Stone, Georgia Calloway and Pearley Mae Readus, brothers, Louis Stone, Ira Stone and Vernoral Stone; and father and mother-in-law, William and Elizabeth Ross.

Charles was a 1978 graduate of Hamilton County Occupational Training Center. He retired from CHI Memorial as a Floor Technician.

He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Darlene Ross Calloway of Chattanooga; daughter, LaToya Nicole Calloway; sons, Charles Lee Calloway, Jr. and Maurice Calloway; grandchildren, DeOnte T. Calloway, Andre T. Calloway, Sr., Adriana Hall Calloway, Sumayah Calloway, Raylee Hunt, Char'Daja Calloway, Charneceia Calloway, Charreana Calloway, Surya Calloway, Kingsley Calloway, Aria Calloway, Meleah Calloway and Charkedia Calloway; great-grandchildren, Journei Calloway, Aubrei Calloway, and Andre T. Calloway, Jr.; brother, Joe Readus; sisters, Linda Trotter, Dianne (Jessie) Harmon and Harriet Stone; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald Akridge, Margaret (Ronald) Tibbs, Theresa (Horace) Caruthers, Valerie (Kirk) Green, and Deborah (Hector) Noble; sister-in-law, Carolyn Stone; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Lee Calloway, Sr., will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Church (400 Tunnel Blvd, Chatt., TN, 37411) with Pastor Paul Warfield officiating and Eulogy by Pastor J. Anthony Taylor. He will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 3005 Rauschenberg Rd., Dalton, Georgia, 30721.

Visitation at the church on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. until the service hour. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and flower girls.
