Mrs. Cathey Cordeila Queen , age 61 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Quinton Memorial Health Center.

Cathey was born September 27, 1960, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late, Ralph M. and Frankie Rogers Jones.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Aaron Queen, a brother, Timothy Jones and a brother-in-law, Archie Taylor.

Cathey was a 1978 graduate of Southeast High School and was retired from Shaw Industries. She was a faithful member of the Eleventh Baptist Church.

Cathey was a very humble soul, meek, quiet, and soft spoken. She never complained about anything and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Janell Taylor of Dalton, GA, Diane and Gordon Harrison of Chatsworth, GA, Daniel and Brenda Jones of Acworth, GA, Edward Jones and Mark Jones both of Dalton, GA; nephews and nieces, Matthew and India Jones, Michelle and Tim Blaylock, Jeff Taylor, Scott Taylor, Nancy and Tim Suits, Tammy and Tony Edwards and Tina and Jeff Sosebee; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Cathey Cordeila Queen will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 2:00 o'clock p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the West Hill Cemetery with Tony Edwards, Jeff Sosebee, Jeff Taylor, Scott Taylor, Daniel Groce and Curtis Taylor honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 12:00 p.m. Noon Sunday until the service hour.
