Mrs. Carolyn Sue Wagnon, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday afternoon, December 31, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Carolyn was born May 4, 1935, the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Green. She is preceded in death by brothers and sisters, JB Green, Marlin Green, Ruth Cox, and Neva Wilbanks; son, Garrison Wagnon.

Carolyn spent her life devoted to serving others and was a true reflection of Christ. She held many titles over the years as a Vacation Bible School teacher and director; Sunday School Teacher for the nursery, children, and young adults; and as a bridal and baby shower director. She was the PTA president and PTA volunteer and enjoyed being the school mom for both of her children. She also worked on the Grievance Committee. She was a member of Spring Place Baptist Church for over 60+ years and a member of Calvary Baptist in Dalton for over 10 years. For fun she enjoyed shopping with her best friends and taking short trips with other couples her and Alton were close to.

Carolyn was a beautiful lady that left a lasting impression on anyone that ever met her. She was the epitome of Southern Grace and Beauty.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Alton Wagnon of the home; son, Terry Wagnon of Dalton, Georgia; grandchildren, Alec and Abbie Wagnon of Dalton, Georgia, Sarah Grace Wagnon and Zach Broome of Chatsworth, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Whitley and Ellie Wagnon of Dalton, Georgia; sister, Sarah Scott; sister-in-law, Geneva Whitener; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Kim Fields and her staff of caregivers who took such great care of Carolyn for a short time.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carolyn Sue Wagnon will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Darey Kittle officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum with Alec Wagnon, Michael Ballew, Bobby Ballew, David England, Jimmy Wilbanks, and Mike Turner honored to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The family is accepting flowers or donations to be made to the Senior Adult Group at Calvary Baptist Church 2115 East Morris Street Dalton, Georgia.
