Mrs. Carolyn Diane Dorsey age 77, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Hamilton Medical Center.  Carolyn was born March 14, 1945, in Ringgold, Georgia a daughter of the late Donald Chester and Catherine Allene Bearden Jones, Sr.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Ray Dorsey, great-grandchild, Nicholas Henricks, brothers, Brent Jones, John Jones, Danny Jones, sister, Reita Parks, brothers-in-law, Charles "Pete" Webster, Billy Swafford and Randy Morris. Carolyn was retired from North Georgia Electric and later was a caregiver to her grandparents and parents.  Carolyn possessed a loving sprit and loved her family dearly.  She was a member of Westside Baptist Church at Rocky Face, Georgia. She is survived by her devoted husband, John A. "Johnny" Dorsey, of the residence and would have celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary on November 7, 2022; daughter, Ginger Gale Dorsey of Tunnel Hill, GA; son, James "Jimmy" Dorsey and Stacy Norris of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Andrea and Jeffery Henricks, Thomas Joseph Heider, Carley Maranda and Garret Bryant, Julia Renee and Corey Hackney, Robbie and Clint Cooper, and Patrick Norris; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Cooper, Annabelle Cooper, Brooke Mahan, Caleb Henricks, Chace Henricks, Anna Henricks, Evey Heider, Theory Bryant, Solara Bryant, Lycaan Bryant, Khloe Cox, Zayla Cox, and Ryker Hackney; brother and sisters-in-law, Chester and Becky Jones of Chatsworth, GA, Julene Jones of Dallas, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tina and Rob Jones, Sherry Watson all of Marietta, GA, Sandra Morris, and Wayne Parks of Dallas, GA; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Laska Dorsey of Ringgold, GA, Linda Swafford of Heflin, AL, and Cynthia "Loranda" Hambright of Tunnel Hill, GA; several nieces and nephews.Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carolyn Diane Dorsey will be held Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her nephew, Reverend John David Dorsey and her pastor, Reverend Rick Edwards officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Gordy Memorial Gardens with T. J. Heider, Patrick Norris, Jeffery Henricks, Corey Hackney, Garret Bryant Caleb Henricks and Chace Henricks honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
