Mrs. Carolyn Sue Cox, age 66, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, July 21, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born April 27, 1955 in Bell Farm, KY, a daughter of the late Willie and Rachel Gregory Slaven. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Cox, brother, Lee Slaven.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Elsa Cox, Phillip Smith; daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Lou Schmouder all of Dalton, GA, Lois and Ernie Watson of McCreary County, KY; brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Karen Slaven of McCreary County, KY; sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jackie Moore of Decatur, TN, Kay Vanover of McCreary County, KY; eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

At her request no services will be held and she will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
