Carol Ann Woodgate Vogel, 91, of Fairmount, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 28th.  Carol was a member of the local Kiwanis Club, substitute teacher and volunteer at Fairmount Elementary and a longtime volunteer at the Fairmount Public Library.  She was a 1955 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and member of Pine Log United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Vogel is survived by her son David Vogel (Flora); her daughters: Leslie Banister (Billy), Laura Stephens, Lisa McKinney (Chad) and Leigh Rayner (Russell); her 7 grandchildren: Ronald Vogel, Eric Banister (Kerri Firth), Melody Vogel (Jon Gordon), Kelli Sekulow (Adam), Phoebe Stephens, Samantha Rayner, and Pippa McKinney; and her 6 great grandchildren; her sister, Persis Jeanne Woodgate Miller (Barry), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Vogel, and her mother and father, Persis and Leslie Woodgate.

A memorial celebrating the life of Carol Vogel will be held at the Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home on Sunday, July 14 with visitation starting at 2:00 and the service at 3:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Carol's name to Paw Angels Pet Rescue of Calhoun, GA, or to Project Love Spay Neuter of Ranger, GA.
