Obituary

Mr. Bruce Wayne Schroder, age 73, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the local hospital.  Wayne was born November 12, 1946 in Hamilton, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph Frank and Emma Seals Schroder.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Schroder, a brother-in-law, Paul Blanz, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leaton and Golden Florence Smith.

Wayne was a 1966 graduate of Garfield High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked in the chemical compounding industry for most of his working years and recently worked with Walden Security.  He was a deacon and active member of the Church of God of The Union Assembly.  He was the meekest, humble, and quiet man but always ready to do whatever needed to be done. Oh, how our hearts are broken but comforted knowing you have met Jesus.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Smith Schroder of the residence; daughters, TaLena Smith, Rena Carver both of Dalton, GA, Golden Jennialee Schroder of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Audrey and Stephen Truelove, Jordan Ledford and Blaine Carver; great grandchildren, Ryder Minchew, Alicia Ledford, Avalynn Truelove and Jayla Ledford; sister-in-law, Donna Schroder of Hamilton, OH; sister, Verdabelle Blanz of Hamilton, OH; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Bruce Wayne Schroder will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Marcus Sisk, Reverend Stoney Kiser and Reverend Blake Brafford officiating. He will be laid to rest at Lakewood Memory Gardens in Rossville, Georgia, with his fellow deacons honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 12:00 p.m. Noon Wednesday until the service hour.

Due to covid-19 mask will always be worn .
