Obituary

Ms. Brenda Gravitt, age 68 of Dalton, GA, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Hamilton Medical Center due to Covid-19. She was born Brenda Lee Johnson on November 25, 1952 in Whitfield County, GA. Brenda enjoyed life, she wanted everyone to be happy, love the Lord and be greatful for another day. Brenda worked with her special friend, Brenda Smith at Sparta Carpet and Lexmart Signature Carpet many years. She retired from there April 2020, worked as a customer service representative. She was enjoying her retirement so much. She was preceded in death by her precious mother, Eula B. Price, stepdad, James Price, father, Robert Lee Johnson, brothers, Bobby Gene Johnson and Gary Edward Johnson, aunt, Irene Cline, uncle, Carl Cline. Known as Auntie and Bob, they opened their home to her sister Eula Price and children, Brenda, Gary, Lyvonne. Her grandparents Calvin and Annie Souther Bryant, Claude and Beulah Johnson, also preceded her Johnny Gravitt her son's dad, cousins, Virginia Boyd Silvers and Bill Silvers, Kathy Rittenhouse, special friend of 60 years Elaine Quarles. She loved all of her family. She has friends she went to school with at Fort Hill and Dalton High. She enjoyed her time with and going out with them. Thank you to all of her friends for the calls, prayers and for loving her so much. She was a member of Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church and loved her Pastor Ronald Guffey.

Brenda is survived by her son Jeffery Todd Gravitt of Dalton, GA, sister, Lyvonne J. Simms, nephew, Joseph "Jody" Simms of Dalton, GA; niece, Pam Johnson Blair and Seaburn Blair of Chatsworth, GA; great niece, Jocelyn Blair Satterfield and Cory Satterfield; cousin, Genell B. and Grady Dillbeck; cousin Kathy Boyd, Ann Bryson, Larry and Diane Bryant of Dalton, Greg Bryant, Sherry B. and Tim Wilson of Cleveland TN;, Ramona and Baron Brown, Danny Wright, Larry and Diane Wright of Calhoun, GA; aunt, Evelyn Hamby of Tifton, GA; special friend, Beverly Johnson Duncan; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

At her request there will be no services at this time.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
