Mrs. Bonnie Elizabeth "Sally" Stacy, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Archway Transitional in Macon, Georgia.
Bonnie was born March 17, 1943, in Chatsworth, Georgia, a daughter of the late Harve and Beulah (Teague) Long. She married Marvin Stacy in 1968.
She worked at Valley Point Elementary school for many years until she retired. She was a faithful member of Center Point Baptist Church for fifty-four years. In her retirement she spent her time visiting people that were sick, homebound or in a nursing facility. Up until Covid and her health declined, there were very few days that passed that she didn't have someone she was going to visit. She was a caretaker for her family and for any cat or dog that she came across. She was always willing to share what she had with those in need. She was a mother that diligently prayed every morning with her prayer partner Carolyn Marcus for their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Marvin Stacy, son, Kenny Stacy, brothers, E.L. Long, Charlie Long, Robert James "Red" Long, Bill Long, Climmie "Cotton" Long and Jimmy Long, sisters, Edith Cochran and Billie Fay Long.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, James Davidson, Robert and Ruth Epps; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Doreece and Lester Amos; grandchildren, Starrla Davidson, Tiffany and Matt Abernathy, Dakota Davidson, Amanda and Kevin Dupree; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Davidson, Johnny Stevens, Chondi Chastain, Daelyn Chastain and Aubrey Dupree; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bonnie Elizabeth "Sally" Stacy will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Matthew Futch and Reverend George Ross officiating. She will be laid to rest by her husband at the Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
