Mr. Bobby Joe Swinney, age 79, of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life Monday, December 14, 2020, with complications of covid-19, at Chatsworth Health Care Center. He was born February 17, 1941 in Dalton, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Troy Howard and Jessie Sutton Swinney, wife, Debra Ann Swinney, granddaughter, Kelly Swinney, brothers Earnest,  Gary and Charles Swinney, sisters Ina Pauline Ogle, Ruby Richards, Lillian Rymer, Little Faye Swinney.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Shane Swinney of Chatsworth, GA, Joe Howard and Amanda Swinney of Dalton, GA, Jason Swinney of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, Edward Earl Swinney, George Howard Swinney; sister, Hazel Coker, Sybil Page of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jessica Newton, Dakota Swinney, Noah Swinney, Joseph Swinney; great grandchildren, Raven, Eli; several nieces and nephews.

The family will celebrate the life of Mr. Bobby Joe Swinney with a visitation Friday December 18, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the Little Prospect Memorial Gardens.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
