Calhoun

Mr. Bobby Edward Hall, age 79, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Hall was born on May 14, 1946, in Calhoun, Georgia, the son of the late Ruben Randolph Hall and Mildred Irene Wallace Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Evelyn Davidson Hall, and his brother-in-law, Trey Weaver.

A proud United States Army veteran, Bobby faithfully served his country for two years during the Vietnam War. Through his military service, he embodied sacrifice, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that defined his life and work. He devoted more than 50 years to the transportation and logistics industry and worked alongside his family in lifelong farming operations at Hall Brothers Produce. His leadership extended into educational governance, where he served as a dedicated member of the Gordon County School Board for 30 years. Bobby viewed his service on the board as a calling, taking great joy in helping students succeed and watching generations of young people grow and thrive.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Bobby was unwavering in his commitment to sharing the Gospel and living out Christian principles. He was a member of NorthSide church of Christ and was actively involved in his community through the Jaycees and the Republican Club. In high school, he participated in FFA, reflecting his lifelong love for agriculture and gardening.

Bobby never met a stranger. He was known for his warm spirit, steady character, and steadfast integrity. In an ever-changing world, he stood firm in his convictions and became synonymous with service, honesty, and educational advocacy throughout Gordon County. Through his work in farming, he helped feed his community physically, and through his faith and example, he nourished many spiritually. Above all, he loved his God and his family—nothing was more important to him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Cathy Ann Thurman Hall of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Keith Dixon, Letha Ingram all of Calhoun, GA, Nita and Lamont Young of Eton, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Kelly Ingram of Dalton, GA, and Jonathon Ingram of South Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Angie Hall of Calhoun, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Gary Mize of Haleyville, AL, and Susan Weaver of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Sam Dixon, Annsley Ingram, Bailynn Ingram, Griffen Ingram, Joshua Humphree, and Reggie Humphree; and four great-grandchildren, Josie, Elijah, Reese and Harrison, all of whom he loved dearly and a special aunt, Ann Hall Mathis of Calhoun, GA; several nieces and nephews.
