Mrs. Blanche Ruth Bruce, age 85, of the Dawnville community, departed this life Sunday, November 27, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Bruce was born November 30, 1930 in Chatsworth, GA, a daughter of the late Raymond Smith and Nanny Tatum Dolloff. She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Retha and Chester Ingle and Wanda Smith, F.J. Brackett, Eldred Adams, sister-in-law, Jean Smith. She attended Trinity Fellowship Church.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, C.W. Bruce of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Joyce Bruce; daughters, Linda Brogdon of Dalton, GA, Phyllis Bruce of Chatsworth, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Quinn and Ruby Smith, Melvin Dolloff of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosetta Adams of Chatsworth, GA, Ruby Brackett, Barbara and Reverend Frank Cronan, Betty and Steve Buck of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Charles and Alisa Brogdon, Kevin and Carrie Brogdon, Rob and Christy Aitchison, Dale and Kim Bruce; great grandchildren, Brittney, Whitney, Brooke, Haley, Hunter; great great grandchildren, Mason, Sophia, Addisyn; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Blanche Ruth Bruce will be held Thursday December 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Timothy Parker and Reverend Frank Cronan officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Valley Cemetery in Murray County with Charles Brogdon, Kevin Brogdon, Dale Bruce, Michael Blake, Coby Kilgore, and Hunter Bruce serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
