January 13, 1946 – April 12, 2024
REV BILLY (BILL) L BIDDIX, SR. age 78, Rocky Face, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and to join his heavenly family Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home. A Vietnam Veteran, who at age 17 joined the Marine Corp to serve and help protect the country he loved.
He is a member of Royal Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, where he was called to preach in 1992 and helped to start the singing group, "The Traveling Pilgrims". Being ordained to preach the Gospel July 26, 1992, at Emmanuel Baptist Church he went forward to spread the word through preaching, teaching, and singing.
He fought a long difficult battle of never-ending pain and turmoil; never once losing sight of his faith and his hope in the Lord. When in pain he would say, "help me Lord" and those around were amazed at his gentle spirit and his deep love for the God whom he served and worshiped.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Helen Jane Lambdin Biddix of the residence; sons, Billy L Biddix, Jr (Laura) of Asheville, NC; David L Weaver (Odilia) of Resaca, GA; Melvin G Davis of Villanow, GA; and Robert L Davis of Chatsworth, GA; daughters, Elaine Shook Marian of NC; Georgia Davis Partin (Mark) of Villanow, GA; and Krissy Biddix of NC; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones too numerous to mention individually; His "special" pharmacist, Heather Neal.
Preceded in death by adopted parents, Allen and Hiawatha Biddix; brothers, Fred Moore Jr., Howard Moore, Bobby Moore, Robert Moore, and George Moore, sisters, Helen Biddix, Alva Moore, Doris Moore, daughter Tonya, Pastor Donald Young.
The celebration of life will be conducted at Ponders Melrose Chapel, Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Melvin Burson and Charles Franklin officiating. Special singing by Charles Franklin, David Weaver, and Janie Biddix. David Weaver, Melvin Davis, Billy Biddix, Kaleb Smith, Robert Lane Davis, and Robert Allen Davis serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Maranatha Baptist Church Cemetery in Chatsworth, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
