Obituary

Mrs. Billie “Jo” Baldwin Kisselburg, age 68, of Calhoun, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, June 1, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of her home and the love of her family.

She was born June 23, 1957, to the late James Robert "Bob" Baldwin and Sarah Francis "Johnson" Baldwin, Billie was a woman whose personality could light up a room. She was known for being sassy, outspoken, and never afraid to tell you exactly what was on her mind. While she could be bossy at times, those who knew her best understood that everything she did came from a heart full of love. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and cherished beyond measure.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Baldwin, Jr., John Baldwin, Thomas Baldwin, and Paul "Buck" Baldwin; and her sisters, Hazel Timms, Jackie Cowart, Margaret Thurman, and Retha Gregory.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Chris Kisselburg, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her son, David Slaughter of Calhoun; daughters, Misty Smith and husband Darrell of Calhoun, Misty Kisselburg and Tony Rich of Sugar Valley, Tammie Driskell and husband Jeff of Adairsville, and Kristal Gilfoil and husband Will of Ranger. She is further survived by her sister, Lois Wooten of Armuchee, Ga; brother, Leroy Baldwin of Resaca; her beloved grandchildren, Destahnie Shuman, Chase Slaughter, Cody Smith, Shelby Millican, Derek Driskell, Liam Gilfoil, and Kelly Gilfoil; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Riley Shuman, Stella Shuman, and Leland Smith.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 4, 2026, at the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Wayne Jackson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday morning until the service hour.
