Mrs. Betty Jo Wooten, age 85, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday afternoon, September 23, 2021 at Erlanger Medical Center East in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born May 19, 1936 in Dalton, GA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gussie Gladden, husband, David Lee Wooten, son, George David Wooten.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Leon Wooten; granddaughter, Breanna Tackett; cousins, Teresa Centers, Virginia Williams, Freeman Centers all of Dalton, GA, William Centers of Chatsworth, GA.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Jo Wooten will be held Thursday September 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Milton Rainey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and son at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
