Mrs. Betty Lynn Souders, 88, of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, June 1, 2019 at Tennova Healthcare in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Mrs. Souders was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 3, 1930.  She was a daughter of the late William and Bessie Pierce Higdon.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Maurice Souders; brothers, Jerome Higdon and James Higdon.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Pamela Parker of Cleveland, Tennessee, Paula and Charles Davenport of Chatsworth, Georgia; sons and daughter-in-law, Terry and Deborah Souders, Ira Souders, all of St. Louis, Missouri and David Souders of Cleveland, Tennessee.

A memorial service will be held at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Saturday June 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Shane Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Mrs. Souders will be laid to rest with her husband at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
