Mrs. Betty Shelton, age 60 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, at the local hospital. Betty was born October 13, 1955 in Vero Beach, FL. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elbert Shelton Sr., son, Charles Elbert Shelton Jr., father, Jesse Stewart.

She is survived by her children, Stewart Anthony Shelton and Amanda Cordell of Chatsworth, GA, Jessica and Shaon Charles Forrester of Dalton, GA; mother, Tressa Marie Stewart of Eton, GA; brother and sister-in-law; Jesse and Denise Stewart of Eton, GA. sister and brother-in-law; Cheryl and David Wilcox of Chatsworth, GA; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Marty Johnston, William Lee and Sue Shelton of Crandall, GA, Roy Shelton, Billy Joe Shelton of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, Betty Jane Chapman of Dalton, GA; special granny, Wanda Forrester of Telico Plains, TN; five grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Shelton will be held Saturday April 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the New Beginnings Baptist Church with Reverend Junior Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the New Beginnings Baptist Church from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.
