Mrs. Betty Lou Seay, age 90, of Dalton, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her devoted family. Born on November 27, 1933, in Cohutta, Georgia, Betty was the cherished daughter of the late John Frank and Ruth Mae Massingale Langham. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Eugene Seay, as well as her brothers George, Frank, J.M., and John Phillip Langham, and her sisters Farrel Baynes and Hattie Langham.
Betty's legacy lives on through her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Johnnie Ruth and Keith Jones, and Jean and Bobby Cox, all of Dalton, GA. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Langham of Chatsworth, GA, and a growing number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild on the way. Her life touched the hearts of many nieces, nephews, and friends, who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Lou Seay will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Riverbend Baptist Church, located at 3043 Riverbend South, Dalton, GA 30721. Reverend Grady Bartley and Reverend Lewis Campbell will officiate. The family will welcome friends for visitation at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband at West Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Nick Jones, Jon Jones, Ryan Harris, Jeremy Bowen, Riley Jones, Lance Jones, and Noah Jones, with Justin Jeffery serving as an honorary pallbearer.
In her passing, Betty leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew her. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she cherished and who cherished her.
