Mrs. Betty Lou Scott, age 80, of Hartwell, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Calhoun Health Care. Betty was born March 1, 1936 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late Jack and Bessie Defore Shoemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Scott, son, James "Tommy" Webb, daughter, Donna Carol Dutton, brother, Riley "Bud" Shoemaker, sister, Virginia "Louise" Arrington, brothers-in-law, Bobby Williams, Melvis Lybrand.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Webb of Calhoun, GA; stepson, Sammy Scott of Hartwell, GA; son-in-law, Pat Dutton of Calhoun, GA; brother and sisters-in-law, Jerry "Pete" and Janice Shoemaker of Calhoun, GA, Nellie Shoemaker of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Edna "Sis" Williams of Calhoun, GA, Mary Lee "Sally" Lybrand of Whitwell, TN; grandchildren, Stevie Manis Jr. and Christy Manis, Tracy Manis, Julie and Tim Tinch, Kayla Dutton and Brandon Revelle, Terry Lynn Hannah, Barbara Janet Hannah, James Donald "Don" and Camilla Webb, Tommy "Shane" and Angie Webb; great grandchildren, Heath Melville, Coy Tinche, Kaleb Dutton, Jayda Revelle, Kattie Manis, Kristen Manis, Kayla Rice, daughter-in-law, Willie Jean Key Webb.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Lou Scott will be held Saturday December 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Gary Shoemaker officiating. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Mausoleum at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
