Mrs. Betty Palmer, age 81 of Dalton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born June 27, 1941, in El Dorado, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Johnny Wells and Annie Lou Douglas McDow.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mack Allen Palmer, Sr., grandchildren, Morgan Elise Palmer, Justin Padgett, great-grandchild, Samuel Sanford, a brother, Paul McDow and a sister, Claudette Knight.  Betty spent her life taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren who loved her more than anything. She was a member of Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Brenda Palmer of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Rick Hampton of Chatsworth, GA, and Sherry and Gary Burton of Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Katie Sanford, Maribeth and Felix Delgado, Tiffany and Alexander Perry, Madison Palmer, and Bailey Palmer, Adam Sanford; great-grandchildren, Simon Sanford, Arkley Sanford and Milo Sanford; brother, Douglas McDow of Tucson, AZ; sisters, Geri Autrey, of Vinton, LA, Patsy Martin of Berryville, AR, Julie French of Pineville, LA, and Debbie McDow of Ball, LA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Palmer will be held Friday morning, April 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at West Hill Cemetery with Juan Enriquez, Alexander Perry, Rick Hampton, Felix Delgado, Steve Bennett, David Manly and Rande Harness honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
