Mrs. Betty Jean Stanley, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, October 4, 2021 at her residence. Betty was born October 5, 1939 in Ellijay, GA, the daughter of the late Clint and Ruby Davis Newton. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband Roy Leon Stanley and her brother, Clint Newton, Jr. Betty was retired from Shaw Industries where she worked in the sample department at Plant 52.

Betty is survived by her daughter Cathy Stanley of Dalton, GA; son, Mike and Pam Stanley; sister, Lorene Fowler; grandchildren, Brent Carter, Terri (Daniel) Stinnett, Chris (Meggin) Morrison, Jennifer(Eric) Morrison, Kristina Adame, Robert Adame 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The service to celebrate the life of Betty will be held Wednesday October 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Danny Ray officiating. Burial will follow the service at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Robert Fowler, Gary Stanley Jr, Eric Bailey, Daniel Stinnett, Ethan Robinson and Scott Casey serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday October 6, 2021 at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
