Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Hartsfield, 88, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday February 28, 2018 at the Quinton Memorial Health Care Center.

Betty was born on January 7, 1930 in Bartow County, Georgia, a daughter of the late James Howard and Minnie Mauldin Godfrey. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, John Hartsfield, daughter, Joyce Ann Stanley, brothers, David, James, and Allen Godfrey.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Fred Hartsfield of Alexander City, AL, Tim and Lori Hartsfield of Chickamauga, GA; grandchildren, Carrie Ann McCutchen of Rocky Face, GA, Kim an Todd Wheeler of Deatsville, AL, Mandy and David Weathers of Calhoun, GA, Tara and Clint Benson of Ringgold, GA, Holly Hartsfield and Craig Rogers of Chickamauga, GA, Heather Hartsfield and Bret Sterman of Crestview, FL; thirteen grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Hartsfield will be held Saturday March 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Tyler Gilreath and Clint Benson officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
