Ms. Betty Elizabeth Gohley age 81 of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Friday December 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born January 4, 1937 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Elick Curtis and Maude  Emaline "Maudie" Curtis Craig and her step-father Sim Craig. She was also preceded in death by, sisters, Virginia Dail Curtis Phillips and Rachel and Donald Manis, brothers, William and Joan Curtis, Richard Curtis, Gwinn Curtis, and a grandson, Heath Martin.

Betty was a former employee at Shaw Industries, plant #81 where she worked in final inspection for 35 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jane and James Morgan of Chatsworth, GA; son, Alvin and Ruby Nix of Old Fort, TN; grandchildren, Stephanie Marie Santos and Avery Bell, Lydia Alli and Jonathan Gunter, Rebecca Leigh Mullins and Zach Malone, James Eric and Amy Morgan; great-grandchildren, Paydon Chapman, Braylee Malone, Amber Bell, Dylan Dickens, Tucker Gunter, Bentley Roberts, Emma Woods, Haiven Rittenhouse and Jordin Morgan; sister, Marie Caldwell, Dalton, Georgia; sister-in-law, Elaine Curtis of Tunnel Hill; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Curtis Gohley will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend David Nix officiating and her grandson, Dylan Dickens delivering the eulogy.  The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
