Ms. Betty Joyce Childers, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, with her son Howard Waymon Childers, departed this life Wednesday evening, February 24, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born January 21, 1940 in Opelika, AL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Nell Mary Atkins, son-in-law Lamar Smith.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Jimmy Rogers of Lafayette, GA, Kathy and Randy Trammell of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Amy and Robert Hill of Lafayette, GA, Krista Teasley of Chatsworth, GA, Lamar Smith, Jason Smith of Tunnel Hill, GA, David and Ashley Smith of Chatsworth, GA; 11 great grandchildren, and great great granddaughter, Hensley Weed.

At her request she will be cremated and a memorial services will be held at a later date.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
