Mrs. Betty Bredeson, age 87, of Rocky Face, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday May 2, 2017 at her residence. Betty was born March 17, 1930 in Jasper, GA, daughter of the late Brady and Susie Childers Holmes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernus "Yank" Bredeson, son, Vernon "Buster" Bredeson, sister, Oneida Babb (Hugh), brothers, Leonard Holmes (Tottsie), Rembert Holmes (Myrtle), sister-in-law, Louise Holmes, great grandchild, Bailey Bredeson. She was a member of the Mineral Springs United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Vernus Bredeson Jr. (Teresa) of Dalton, GA, Dusty Bredeson (Cami) of Charlotte, NC; daughters and sons-in-law, Velinda Guinn (Wayne) of Tunnel Hill, GA, Verna Carnes (Larry) of Rocky Face, GA, Denise Hetler (Roger) of White House, TN, Denita Walters (Thomas) of Dalton, GA, Debra Frost (Rex) of Cumming, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Herbert Holmes of Resaca, GA, Lloyd Holmes (Alice) of Vermont; eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, a number of great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Bredeson will be held Friday May 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Gordon Delashmitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Mineral Springs United Methodist Church at 4079 Airport Rd Dalton, GA 30721.
