Mrs. Betty Sue Babb, age 72, of Cohutta, GA, departed this life, TuesdayNovember 24, 2020 at the local hospital. Betty was born July 23, 1948 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Sam and Lois Lee Earley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lamar Earley.
Betty was a 1966 graduate of Westside. She worked many years in
secretarial and clerical work at Hamilton Medical Center and with the Department of Family and Children Services. She was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church.She is survived by her loving husband, John C. Babb of the residence, and celebrated their fifty-first wedding anniversary, August 2, 2020; son, John Clark Babb of Cohutta, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Chris Guinn of Labelle, FL; grandchildren, Tiffany and Thomas Carniglia, Alissa
Guinn, Brooke Guinn and her fiancé, James Walls; great-grandchildren,
Matthew Carnigila and Silas Gomez; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Charlie Sisson of Ringgold, GA, Geneva Earley of Chatsworth, GA, Louise and Jerry Faith of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister-in-law, Cathy Earley of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Sue Babb will be held Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charles "Bit" Parrish officiating. She will be laid to rest at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Billy Starks, Charlie Sisson, John Clark Babb, Chris Stanley, Chris Guinn and James Walls honored to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be
worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when
visiting the funeral home.
