IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beth Anne
Underwood
December 26, 1977 – January 12, 2026
Ms. Beth Anne Underwood, age 48, of Cohutta, Georgia, passed away Monday morning, January 12, 2026, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Beth was born December 26, 1977, in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Ruby Lowery, and Harold and Kathiren Bradberry.
Beth worked in retail and was also a licensed Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Beth wasn't afraid of hard work, and she didn't need anybody to fight her battles—she could handle things just fine on her own. She was independent, strong-willed, and always did things her way.
If you knew Beth, you knew she had a big personality and an even bigger heart. Her family called her a "classy nut job," full of "piss and vinegar," and that pretty well sums her up. She was funny, always smiling, sweet when she wanted to be, and protective of her family to a fault. Beth was the kind of person who could walk into a room and bring the life right along with her. She loved to laugh, loved to cut up, and she never met a moment she couldn't make a little brighter.
But more than anything else, Beth loved her children with everything in her. They were her pride and joy, and she made sure they knew they were loved, no matter what. She may have been tough as nails sometimes, but it was because she cared so deeply and would do anything to protect the ones she loved.
She is survived by her children, Meghan Cole and Stephanie Underwood, both of Jasper, GA, Dakota and Travis Travis of Cherry Point, NC, and Lucas Cole of Canton, GA; grandson, Nicholas Sowards of Jasper, GA; parents, Donna Batroff of Cohutta, GA, and H.L. and Anita Bradberry of Woodstock, GA; brothers, Cody and Alice Bradberry of Cohutta, GA, and Jeremiah and Jenny Bradberry of Ball Ground, GA; nieces and nephews, Tristan Bradberry, Audree Bradberry, Conner Bradberry, Corynn Biddle, Addison Bradberry, and Cassidy Haygood; along with several aunts, uncles, and other loved ones.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel, with Reverend Tony Boyd officiating. The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel beginning at 5:00 p.m. Saturday until the service hour.
