Mrs. Bertha Mae Barnes age 80 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Wednesday November 6, 2019 at her home. She was born in Fentress County, TN, a daughter of the late Robert Henry and Delta Mae Hall Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Jones, Mancil Jones, Burnell Jones, sisters, Beatrice Smith, Estelle Autumn.

She is survived by her husband Bill Barnes; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Audrey Barnes of Ringgold, GA, Raymond and Teresa Barnes of Sugar Valley, GA, Travis and Ruth Barnes of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughter, Kimberly Barnes and her life partner Jenny Zorries of Dalton, GA; sister, Mazelle King of Rockwood, TN; thirteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bertha Mae Barnes will be held Saturday November 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Billy Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
