Mrs. Bernice Belle Elders Lowman, age 94 of Dalton GA, passed away Friday May 9, 2025, at Quinton Memorial. She was born September 23, 1930 in Dalton, Georgia a daughter of the late Barney W. Elders, Sr. and Lillie Mae (Goswick) Elders. She was also preceded in death by her husband Junie Jason "JJ" Lowman, sons-in-law Tolbert Wallace and Wallace Ridley, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mabel Louise Elders, Lucille and R.L. Stanley, Ruth and Terry Thompson, brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Elders, Jimmy Elders, Steve Elders, Robert (Bob) & Ruby Johnson Elders, Barney W. Jr. (B.W.) & Daisy Callahan Elders, niece Peggy Edwards(Darrell), nephew David Stanley.
Bernice retired from Hamilton Medical Center in 1992 after 18 years of service in the Housekeeping Department. She loved her job and proudly spoke of it often. She loved to travel with her children and enjoyed many holidays and special occasions with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. We can't begin to tell her life of 94 years in this obituary. She loved and lived her life to the fullest. The dash is complete. She will be missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Lowman Wallace, Dianne Lowman, Shirley Lowman all of Dalton, GA, Yvonne Lowman of Cedartown, GA; grandchildren, Chris Wallace of Dalton, GA, Jeremy Ridley of Cedartown, GA, Teresa Ridley of Hartwell, GA, Terri Ridley of Calhoun, GA; great grandchildren, Brenin Wallace, Brooke Wallace(Case Mathis), Specialist E4 Tristin Ridley(Lynsey), Jacob Smith, Logan Hall, Tarryn Little(Casey), Caleb Ridley(Valerie), Saraynah Ridley, Hannah Ridley; great great grandchildren, Mallee Mathis, Sadie Mathis, Elizabeth Ridley, Caleb Israel Ridley, Enzo Isaac Ridley nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bernice Belle Elders Lowman will be held Wednesday May 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Dawnville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Chris Wallace, Brenin Wallace, Jeremy Ridley, Case Mathis, Allen Elders and Brad Sosebee serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
