Mr. Benton Edward McCuiston age 92, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, July 9, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Benton was born February 25, 1923 in Spring City, Tennessee, a son of the late Andrew and Maggie McCuiston. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ford, Roy, Jim, and Frank McCuiston, brothers-in-law, Jay Boles, Frank Collins.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Jane McCuiston of the residence; daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Lynn and Dr. David Burnett of Charleston, SC, Dr. Mary and Dr. Michael Shapiro of Athens, GA, Jan and William Henderson of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Alma McCuiston Kingston, TN; sisters, Elizabeth Boles of Kingston, TN, Hazel Collins of Rockwood, TN; grandchildren, Carrie and Brad Brookshire, Suzanne and Matt Wooley, Patty and Bates Westmoreland, Amanda and Josh Mitchell, Robert and Carol Anne Shapiro, Will Henderson, Emily Shapiro; great grandchildren, Jack Brookshire, Grace Ann Brookshire, Matty Wooley; nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Benton Edward McCuiston will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Dr. David Burnett, Dr. Michael Shapiro, and William Henderson officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Whitfield Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post 112 in charge of military honors.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Dalton Education Foundation at P.O. Box 1408 Dalton, GA 30722-1408.
