Obituary

Mr. Benny Olen Kinsey, known to most as "Ben", age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Wednesday February 19, 2020 at the Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

Mr. Kinsey was born on March 29, 1943 in Ellijay, Georgia.  He was a son of the late Reece and Lizzie Willis Kinsey.

He was a 1963 graduate of the Valley Point High School in Dalton.  Mr. Kinsey retired from Citizens Carpet Service where he spent the majority of his working career as a Truck Driver.  He was an avid fisher and hunter and loved Nascar stock car racing.  Above all, he loved and adored his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinsey is also preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Jenell Mae Patton, who passed away on April 18, 2018; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ollie and Garland Patton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean Kinsey Dunn and J.T. Dunn, Christine K. McClure and David McClure; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Kinsey and Jeanette Sue Kinsey.

Mr. Kinsey is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and Scott Stamey of Chatsworth, Beth and Chris Morgan of Varnell; grandchildren, Amber Morgan, Ashlynn Morgan, and Savannah Morgan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Charles Sisson of Dalton, Loraine and Leonard Davis of Ellijay; brothers and sister-in-law, Randy Kinsey, Hoyt and Jane Kinsey all of Dalton; special nephew and his wife, Donnie and Sheila Dunn of Dalton; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ben Kinsey will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM in Ponders Melrose Chapel.  Brother Larry Jenkins will officiate.  Mr. Kinsey will be laid to rest beside his wife at United Memorial Gardens.  Shaw Scott, Justin Davenport, Craig Dunn, Donnie Dunn, Josh Kinsey, Jeremy Davis will all serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ponders Melrose Chapel.
