Mrs. Barbara Ann Thompson, age 89, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her home.

Barbara was born June 23, 1936, in Dalton, Georgia, the only child of the late Harlan and Alberta Vaughn Houston. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Mack Ray Brindle, Sr., and her second husband, Wayne Douglas Thompson.

A 1954 graduate of Dalton High School, Barbara worked for many years in office and clerical positions at various carpet mills. Beyond her career, Barbara was known for her extraordinary musical talent. She was a church pianist for over seventy years, sharing her God-given gift of music with generations of worshippers. At the time of her passing, she faithfully served as pianist at South Dalton Baptist Church. Barbara was recognized by many as an extremely talented pianist, whose beautiful playing brought joy, comfort, and inspiration to all who heard her.

She is survived by her children, Laura Adkins of Dalton, GA, Mack and Linda Brindle of Langston, AL, and Rick Brindle of Clermont, FL; grandchildren, Brittany Adkins, Hailey Adkins, Abby and Tim Humphries, Ashley Brindle and Hector Vasquez, Tonya "T.J." Weaver and Phil Suarez; sister-in-law, Marcia Beck Thompson of Dalton, GA; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Ann Thompson will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her pastor, Reverend Danny Edwards, officiating. She will be laid to rest with her family at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum. Her family and close friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 12:00 p.m. noon Thursday until the service hour.
