Mrs. Barbara Teal, age 81 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday evening, August 24, 2020 at Ridgewood Manor. She was born June 25, 1939 in Blue Ridge, GA a daughter of the late Charlie Lee and Eva Mae Pierce Ward. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life Steve Sam Teal Sr., son, Richard David Teal, brother, Paul Olin Ward. She was a dedicated Wife, mother, and grandmother who was loved by many. She loved God and prayed for everyone that she met in life. She was a member of McFarland Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve Sam Teal Jr. and Elizabeth Teal of Hiram, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John Bortney of Crawfordville, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Lynn and Mag Ward of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Monica and Jeremy Flood, Heath Teal, Josh Ogle, Zachary Teal, Josh and Susan Ellis, Krystal Ellis, Nicholas Teal, Erich Bortney, Cierra Bortney; ten great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Sue Teal will be held Monday August 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Ellijay, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
