Mrs. Barbara Josephine Rupert, age 84 of Dalton, Georgia, passed away July 25, 2014 at her home. Barbara was born March 6, 1930 in Wisconsin, the youngest of sixteen children. Barbara was a graduate of Wilson Central High School in Wilson, New York. She worked in food service most of her life and at one time owned "Barb's Country Kitchen" in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, worked many years at the Cherokee Restaurant and later at the Kroger Deli on Cleveland Hwy. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to quilt. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Donna Roberson and Melanie Rupert.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Rupert and would have celebrated their forty-third wedding anniversary on August 26, 2014; daughters, Jody and Marty Feldy, Anita Graves of Springfield, MO, Ella Mae Rupert of San Diego, CA, Patricia Boyd of Ridgecrest, CA, Cynthia Hice of Chattanooga, TN; sons, Robert Rupert of Clearfield, UT, and Terry Rupert of Springfield, MO; special grandchildren, Laura Burke, Jonita Mouzon and Jeremy Benzinger; many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Barbara Josephine Rupert will be held Tuesday morning 11:00 A.M., July 29, 2014 at Maple Grove Baptist Church (347 Maple Grove Road, Dalton, GA) with Reverend Tony Robertson officiating. She will be laid to rest at the church cemetery with Jeremy Benzinger, Terry Rupert, Quinton Hickman, Brandan Hickman, Corey Burke and Drew Morgan serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 .m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church until the service hour.
