Ms. Barbara Ann Defore, age 67, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, March 18, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born October 23, 1946 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late, Otis Robert and Della Lee Williams Defore. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Calvin Lee and Jimmy Wayne Defore. Barbara was a faithful member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. She was a 1965 graduate of Westside High School and worked for over thirty-three years in Human Resources at AdBac (formerly Rogers Finishing) and for over twenty years at Lynn's Hallmark Cards at Walnut Square Mall.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Michael Hough of Calhoun, GA, Kathy and Johnny Brooks of Rocky Face, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Timothy and Gail Defore of Tunnel Hill, GA; special sister-in-law, Joliene Defore of Tunnel Hill, GA; special nephew who was her son at heart, Casey Brooks; special caregivers, Joliene Defore, Sharon York, Ashley Trentham, Holly Brooks and Brenda Williams; very special friend, Barron Bryant; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Barbara Ann Defore will be Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Scott Winters and Reverend Kevin Becker officiating. She will be laid to rest at Dunagan Cemetery in Rocky Face, Georgia, with Matthew Brooks, Casey Brooks, Gary Arnold, David Arnold, Barron Bryant, Jerry Reddix serving as pallbearers. Billy Joe Pickens will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 11:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
