Mr. Arthur Raymond Huggins, age 68, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday morning, March 30, 2014 at the local hospital. Arthur was born December 25, 1945 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Jack Riley and Virginia Mae "Vergie" Swift Huggins. He was a mechanic by trade and worked many years in the shipping department at Shaw Industries.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Carroll Huggins and would have celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, April 6, 2014; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie Raymond and Amy Huggins; daughter, Sandra Huggins; grandchildren, Nathan Huggins, Brandon Sullivan and Cody Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Miley Sullivan, Serinity Sullivan, Logan Huggins, Preston Sullivan, Colt Sullivan and Brooklynn Sullivan; sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Kenneth Flood; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leroy and Mary Huggins all of Dalton, GA, and David and Jackie Dyer of Calhoun, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Arthur Raymond Huggins will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Lonnie Starnes officiating. He will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with Nathan Huggins, Brandon Sullivan, Cody Sullivan, Tony Carroll, David Ogle and James Ogle serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
