Mr. Archie L. Taylor, Jr., age 76, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, March 31, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 23, 1941 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Archie Taylor and Rheta Kelley Taylor, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Billy and Alvin Stinson, sister, Betty Jo Stinson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Archie was a member of the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Janell Taylor of the residence; sons, Jeff Taylor of Cartersville, GA, Scottie Taylor of Knoxville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Tim Suits of Dalton, GA; sister, Micky Robinson; grandchildren, Zae Taylor, Candice and Daniel Groce, Justin and Ashley Suits and Rachael Taylor; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Archie L. Taylor Jr. will be held Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey and Reverend Robert Beavers officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Tony Edwards, Eddie Jackson, Daniel Groce, Tim Suits and Curtis Taylor serving as pallbearers. Military graveside honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #112. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11:00 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday.
