Mrs. Annie Ruth Rich, age 85, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life, Thursday May 11, 2017 at the local hospital. She was born on March 23, 1932 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter to the late Robert Luther Williams Sr. and Willie McGinty Williams. She is also preceded by her husband of 64 years Msgt Floyd Wendell Rich, brother, U.S. Air Force Retired Joe Williams, George Williams, Raymond Williams, Rev. Luther Williams, Robert Williams Jr., T-Sgt Milburn J. Williams, Dewey Gentry, sisters, R.L. Moore, Freddie Wells, Della Defore, Betty Stanley. She was a member of the Emmaus Baptist Church. She loved her church and her church family.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborrah Carroll of Dalton, Georgia, son and daughter-in-law; Michael and Edna Rich of Dalton, Georgia, siter, Lula Mae Arnold of Dalton, GA; grandchildren and spouses; Heather and Adam Rich-Matteson, Casey Lynn and Billy Keith Carroll-Cowart, Lacey and Adam Carroll-Bennett and Amy and Tony Rich Sassman. Great grandchildren; Triston Findley, Lane Findley, Makala Carroll, Colter Long, Titus Matteson, Gage Long, Josiah Sassman, Adain Bennett, Emma Sassman and Honorary great grandchildren Emily Pierce and Davana Sanders; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Williams, Carol Williams of Dalton, GA.
Services to celebrate the life of Annie Ruth Rich will be held Monday May 15, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Scott Parrish officiating. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday May 16, 2017 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Pall bearers will be Adam Matteson, Triston Findley, Lane Findley, Keith Cowart, Adam Bennett, Tony Sassman with honorary pall bearers; Colter Long, Gage Long, Titus Matteson, Josiah Sassman, and Adain Bennett.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her great grand children's college fund identified as the Rich Family Education Fund at any Regions Bank with contact Dana Johnson. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour.
