IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Annie
Mallett
November 23, 1934 – January 28, 2026
Mrs. Annie L. "Ann" Mallett, age 91, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was born November 23, 1934, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Trammell Schneider and Lela Mae Smith Schneider. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Glenn Waymon Mallett, who passed away May 21, 2015; her brothers, Clarence and Amy Schneider, Ralph and Betty Faye Schneider, and George and Polly Schneider; her sister, Emma and Jack Keith; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester and Annie Mae Morgan Mallett.
Ann was a feisty, independent woman well ahead of her time. Known for her festive spirit, Ann loved making others feel remembered and loved in even the smallest ways. She was a Godly woman and a lifelong Baptist.
She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, her "grand-pups," Maddie, her Australian Shepherd, and Hank, her Bernedoodle, whom she adored greatly. Ann delighted in spoiling them and even sent them greeting cards for holidays and special occasions, a true reflection of her loving and playful nature.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Teresa and Larry Russell of Rossville, Georgia; her son, Wayne and Lisa Mallett of Dalton, Georgia; grandchildren, Jamie and Chris Jenkins, Chris and Nicky Russell, Justin Smith, Nick Walker, Brandon Sexton, and Cameron and Erin Whaley; sisters, Robbie Brock of Canton, Georgia, and Starr and Truman Whaley of Dalton, Georgia; her best friends, Faye Jones and Susan Greeson, both of Chatsworth, Georgia; a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Annie L. "Ann" Mallett will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Reverend Kenny Sheriff officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Friday after 3:00 p.m. until the service hour.
