Mrs. Annie Imogene “Jean” Townsend Hall, 96, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday July 14, 2026, in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Ranger, Georgia.

Jean was born November 11, 1929, in Pickens County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Huston Monroe and Netta Jewel Hamrick Townsend. She was preceded in death by her sister and nephew Nadine and little Larry Herndon, and infant brother little Willie Townsend. Her first husband, Troy Lee West in 1958, father to Brenda West of Fairmount, Georgia and Ronnie West of Calhoun, Georgia.

Second husband John Lindon Wood in 1981, father to Terry Wood (Connie) of the Ludville community. Husband Reverend Tate Billings Hall in 2005, father to Vincent Hall of Oakman, Georgia, Leisa Hall of Cartersville, Georgia and Quinton Vann Hall of Palm Springs, California.

Also survived by grandchildren, Kimberley Smith (Jeff), Casey Mathews (Tiffany), Jennifer “Jenny” Smith (Shaun), Kassie White (Andre), and B.J. Hall. Great-grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Savannah Mathews, Emily Mathews, Madelyn Mathews, Lydia Mathews, Colton Smith (Katie), Couper Smith, Cora Smith, Jersey Strickland, Pippa Strickland, Mugsy White, Kiptyn White and Braylen Hall. Great-great grandchild Crew Lee Smith expected December 2026.

Jean was a member of Ludville Church of Jesus Christ and was retired from Lacey Mills. She dedicated her life to Jesus Christ at a very young age and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, which brought her great joy. She used her talents to share her testimony and love for Christ.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Annie Imogene “Jean” Townsend Hall will be held Friday July 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Pastor Annitte Cross, Pastor Tony Peace, and Brother James Chumley officiating. Interment will follow in the Ryo Baptist Church Cemetery with E.C. Kelly, Gary Waters, Bruce Mealer, Andre White, Shaun Smith, Michael Greenway, Bryan Peace, Casey Mathews and Jeff Smith serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service hour.
