Mrs. Annie "Ann" Earnest, age 84 of Dalton, Georgia, departed Monday, February 23, 2015 at the local hospital. Ann was born February 11, 1931 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Ben and Josie Gibson Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Earnest, son-in-law, Larry Pettit, brothers, Hulan Smith, Douglas Smith, sisters, Alma Rolen, Sue Long, Bernice Suggs, Pearl Gilmaster, Opal Wilson.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John Kent and Huyen Earnest; daughter, Joyce Pettit; brother and sister-in-law, Vinson and Dimple Smith; sisters, Elsie Cochran, Martha Poteet, Jean Arrington all of Dalton, GA; special friends, Irene Brown, Sue Cape, Gene Stinson.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Annie "Ann" Earnest will be held Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
