Mrs. Anna Wilson Witherow, age 93, of Resaca, Georgia, departed this life, Saturday May 25, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Anna was born March 14, 1920 in Gilmer County, GA, a daughter of the late John and Elsie Anderson Wheeler. Anna was also preceded in death by her first husband, Christopher Columbus Wilson, second husband, Jess Witherow, sisters; Myrtle Mulkey and Florence Corbin, brothers; Claude and Cliff Wheeler, as well as daughter Bennie Porter, step-daughters; Helen Starks and Frances Wilson, a son; James Wilson, step-sons; Jack Wilson and Willard Wilson; and a daughters in law, Anita Goodson Wilson and Sylvia McKee Wilson.

Anna is survived by sons and daughter in laws; Arvil and Jean Wilson, Willie Wilson, and Linda Wilson; daughters and sons-in-law; Arzella Baggett all of Resaca, GA, Mary and Wayne Bartley, Philip Porter, Geraldine and Ernest Bartley all of Chatsworth, GA, a sister Laurie Long of Fairmount, GA; twenty-nine grandchildren , several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Anna Wilson Witherow will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday morning May 27, 2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Sugar Valley with Reverend Maynard Thomas and Pastor Donnie Matilda officiating. She will also lay in state at the Flat Branch Baptist Church in Ellijay from 1:30 pm until 2:30pm with the interment directly following in the church cemetery with Earl Bartley officiating the committal service and Earl Bartley, Daniel Bartley, Jason Walston, Brandon Greeson, Curtis Wilson and Daniel Wilson serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel, Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00pm.
