Obituary

Mrs. Angelia Rose Goforth Cagle, age 78, of Gainesville, Georgia, and formerly of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Rose was born November 17, 1946, in Dalton, Georgia, one of nine children born to the late Charles Zack and Arcie Mae Sneed Goforth. She was also preceded in death by her husband and companion, Randy James Cagle; brothers and sisters-in-law and sisters and brothers-in-law, H.L. and Laura Lou Goforth, Essie Lou ad Harlan Welch, Juanita and Eli Fields, Clifford "Buck" and Grace Goforth, Pearl and Bud Brown, Homer and Minnie Goforth, Doris Faye Duckworth, Charles Zack and Judy Goforth, Jr.: and cousins she considered brothers, Charles Billy Goforth and Clyde "Tubby" Foster.

Rose lived life entirely on her own terms. She danced to her own rhythm, never asked permission, and always spoke her truth. Long before the world was ready, she had the courage to live authentically and unapologetically as her true self. Her bold spirit and genuine heart touched all who knew her.

A graduate of Dalton Beauty College, Rose proudly worked as a beautician for over forty years. She also found deep fulfillment serving the residents of Morningside Assisted Living for two decades. Known affectionately by many as "Aunt Rose," she had a gift for making people feel seen, loved, and welcome.

She loved freely and fully, enjoyed a good party, raised beautiful dogs, and could often be found rollerblading in her spare time. Rose was a member of City View Church of God and a loyal friend to many.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Charles Duckworth, and sisters-in-law, Attica Goforth, and Mary Foster, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of beloved friends.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at City View Church of God (3688 Chatsworth Rd., S.E., Dalton, GA, 30721) with Reverend David Mathis and Reverend Michael Blalock officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

A visitation will also be held at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, 1210 Veterans Dr., Dalton, GA, 30720.
