Miss Amanda Nichole Posey, age 22, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday morning, June 18, 2014 at the Gordon Hospital in Calhoun, Georgia, after a courageous three year battle with pancreatic cancer. Amanda was born June 4, 1992 in Calhoun, Georgia. She was a 2010 graduate of Southeast High School where she was an honor student and was very active in sports, having played basketball, track and tennis. She was employed at Burger King (Northgate Drive off the By-pass) had worked there since she was fifteen and was a full time student at Dalton State College. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles E. Posey and Dorothy L. Posey and Charles E. Henery.

She is survived by her parents, Clinton and Lisa Posey; brothers, Sean and Ashley Henery, Brandon Posey; niece, Allie Grace Henery all of Resaca, GA; grandmother, Linda S. Edwards of Dalton, GA; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Miss Amanda Nichole Posey will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Scott Parrish officiating. She will be laid to rest at Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Tyler Mimbs, Will Day, Andy Pichardo, Joaquin Lopez, Matt Hall and Caleb Morang serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning until the service hour.
