Mrs. Alpha Leona Bailey Rutledge, age 80, of Resaca, Georgia, departed this life Saturday evening, February 1, 2014 at Calhoun Health Care surrounded by her loving family. Alpha was born July 6 1933 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter to the late Claude and Roselle Moore Bailey. Alpha was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Rutledgea son, Alvin Rutledge and daughter, Donna Gribble, a brother Larry Bailey, sisters Hazel Welch and Linda Farmer and son- in- law Donald E. Norton.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Felicia Rutledge of Resaca, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Telena Norton, Susan and Danny Goswick all of Resaca, GA; brothers, Billy Bailey of Mableton, GA, and Frankie Bailey of Chatsworth, GA; sister, Claudell Mitchell of Dalton, GA; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Alpha Leona Bailey Rutledge will be held Tuesday February 4, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Resaca First Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Blackstock and Reverend Brent Davis officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fain Cemetery with Michael Rutledge, Danny Goswick, Jesse Baker, Chris Gribble, Cory Baker, Andrew Gribble, and Harrison Rutledge serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at PondersCalhoun Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
