Mrs. Alisha Nell Elrod Townsend, 42, of Irwin Hill Road, Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Saturday evening, April 20, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Alisha was born on October 28, 1976 in Calhoun, Georgia.  She was a daughter of the late Johnny Grover Elrod and Marilyn Slaughter Morgan.  Alisha was a member of Salacoa Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband, Earl Townsend Jr. of the residence; her daughters, Ashley Townsend and Justin Phipps of Fairmount, Miranda and Carlos Escobar of Adairsville; sons, Kenny Gann of Marietta, Chris Gann of West Virginia, and Matthew Townsend of Cartersville; brothers, Michael Elrod of Carrollton and Gene Elrod of Fairmount; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Earl and Jeanette Townsend of Fairmount; sisters-in-law and spouses, Elizabeth and Steve Gibson of Fairmount, Darlene and Bob Nabors of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kaylee Gann, Anzolette Escobar, Kayden Escobar, Xoe Escobar, Jase Booth, Matthew Booth, Ashton Townsend, Brytnley Booth, and Gracelin Banks.

Services to celebrate the life of Alisha Townsend will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from the Salacoa Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Timms, Reverend Delmar Ledford, and Reverend Gary Elrod officiating.  Alisha will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Joe Matthews, Charlie Mallory, Kenneth Jenkins, Jeff Turner, Matthew Townsend, and Gary Spurgeon will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bobo Matthews and Dennis Townsend.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 after 5:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
