Mrs. Alice Faye Motley, age 72 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday April 7, 2023, at the local hospital. She was born December 16, 1950, in Cleveland, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Walter and Elvie Swaggerty Randolph. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Ruby Randolph, James and Shirley Randolph, Robert Randolph, Frank Randolph, Ronald and Diane Randolph, Douglas Randolph, and Judy Carol Randolph, brother-in-law, David Motley, and a nephew she thought of as a brother, Rodney Randolph.
Alice dedicated her life to Jesus Christ at an early age. She loved to sing with her brothers and sister and lived her life for others and winning souls for Jesus.
She is survived by her loving husband of forty-nine years, George "Butch" Motley of the residence; children, Susie Parrish, Alison and Corey Stokes, Yolonda Motley, Tommy Motley, Yletta Welch all of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Dorothy Randolph of Dalton, GA, Bill and Diane Randolph of Plainville, GA, Jessie Randolph of Dalton, GA, Sam and Judy Randolph of Cohutta, GA; sister, Betty Motley of Cohutta, GA; sisters-in-law, Dianne Randolph of Cohutta, GA, Judy Randolph of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Kyle Parrish, Monica Parrish, Ethan Cooper, Laressa Boyd, David Motley, Kaylah Welch, Casey and Nicholas; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Alice Faye Motley will be held Thursday April 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Cohutta Hills Community Church with Reverend Nathan Trammell, Reverend John Varners and eulogy given by her brothers, Sam Randolph and Jessie Randolph officiating. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery with Kyle Parrish, David Motley, Adam Randolph, Ethan Cooper, Dewayne Randolph, and Phillip Coker honored to serve as pallbearers. Dwight Stephens will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the church after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
