Mrs. Alice Faye Galloway, age 69, of Ranger, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, June 6, 2019 at the Erlanger Health Care in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Alice was born July 4, 1949 in Floyd County, Georgia, the last surviving child of M.W. and Loni Welch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilborn Robert "Bobby" Galloway on October 27, 2016 and sons, Richard "Eddie" Eades and Kenneth Robert Galloway.
Alice was a very social person who loved people. She enjoyed reading, her cats and her family. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was associated with Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville, Georgia.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and LaRonda Smith of Ranger, GA; daughter, Tracy Hillegeist of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Sabrina and Matthew Whitenton, Walker and Amber Hillegeist, Samantha Hillegeist, Allison Newman, Tiffany Hillegeist, Mason Bramblett, Isaac Bramblett, Stephen Smith and Timothy Smith; great-granddaughter, Emma Newman; special friends, Regina Defoor Hodge, Judy Johnson and Penny Bramblett; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Ann Smith of Pickens, SC, and Rachael and James Smith of Easley, SC; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Alice Faye Galloway will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Hudson officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Chandler Cemetery with David Arb, Matthew Whitenton, Lamar Walraven, Mark Burchett, Walker Hillegeist and Roger Wilson honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
